I am grateful that I can be vulnerable, transparent, and share my challenges. Sometimes in person, sometimes in writing, many times via Twitter and much of the time with dear trusted friends. One day I hope to share them through public and key-note speaking. Meanwhile, indulge with me in what seems to be tickling my fancy of late. My newest pet project: peachpoetry.com.
My Blog Had a Baby
This is what happens when an idea is born. Babies are birthed. I pushed out Peaches, and she is swiftly becoming the apple of my eyes. Find out why. Check in on her often because there is something about 'new- new' that keeps a fickle woman's attention. No, I'm not crazy. I call her Peaches, yet she is the apple of my eyes. I joke and crush a lot.

Who Are You?

I decided to start anew, to strip away what I had been taught. - Georgia O'Keeffe
The act of blogging is one of those things in my life that I can't seem to control the outcome in such a way that I'm at ease with whether I blog or not. I'm no stranger to live journals, although the amount of posts or current lack of readership denotes something altogether different. However, blogging beauty is in the eye of the beholder and right now I envision millions of people in awe over the beauty found within my posts.
What is it about me? I don't lack substance. I have the gift of persuading people. Heck, I genuinely like people. A good teacher never stops being a student, so I'm here to learn all there is about me and this blogging bone of contention I have. I envy bloggers who have been consistent at keeping their blogs current and chock-full-of their personal or niche` blogging journeys. Maybe I am an expert at something--what not to do when the going gets tough (Control + Alt + Delete). We all have our "thing" that make us invigorated, excited, giddy, validated. And although I have many things that do all of those things for me, I feel like blogging has been one outlet that I've failed at doing. Not being successful at blogging literally takes me down a dimly lit road of selflessness and low-level importance. Don't laugh. It's true.
What is the "message" I'm trying to send here (because really this is about me, you just so happen to be reading my thoughts)? Each of us has an essence, a quality at the very core of our being that makes us who we are. It's what guides our thoughts, our feelings, our tastes. It's what sets us apart from everyone else. Therefore, I believe that finding ways to express that essence is one of the greatest joys in life. Leaving your mark on something and making it your own.

Here is to sharing my vision, showing what I'm made of--the good, the bad, the ugly, and letting my inner self show. I for one am very much looking forward to the chance to really begin to learn who I am. One last thing. People who will come by this here blog (or follow or only lurk me on that other social networking site) may possible dislike me. And you know what? That's okay. They are disliking an image. They don't know me. The bits and pieces displayed here and there are a "part" of me on my journey. The God I serve, love and pray to daily, the woman who birthed and raised me, the husband who vowed until death do we part, and the babies that I brought forth will always matter more to me because they will always be the greatest part of my path to greater bliss.
Do you know exactly, who you are?
Live My Best Life

Live My Best Life
For years, Oprah has drilled the line "Live Your Best Life" into (us) and uses it as a tagline for 'O' The Oprah Magazine! I took the time to envision what living (defined as the experience of being alive; the course of human events and activities. People who are still living. The condition of living or the state of being alive. The financial means by whereby one lives.)
Below are a few of my 'best' Oprahesque moments.
•Best spontaneous decision:
Deciding to spend our 2012 spring break in Atlanta, GA. It made me appreciate being around lots and lots and lots of people that look like me who want to live their best life too!
•Best way to express myself:
Wearing my hair loced and little to no make up on my face. It shows my earthy nature and natural inclination to living as close to an organic life as possible.
•Best style icon:
Tracee Ellis Ross character Joan Carol Clayton from the sitcom Girlfriends. Her style was classic, put-together and flirty fashionable without showing too much most times.
•Best thrill:
Any and all theme park roller coasters! Also the time I went for a bungee jump.
•Best pinch-myself moment:
Every time my children are recognized publicly for some gift, talent or God-given ability. I feel proud of the decision made for me to become a full-time stay-at-home-mother.
•Best karaoke song:
Keith Sweat's Make It Last Forever both Keith and Jacci McGhee's par.t
•Best place to live:
In a ranch-style, one-level home. Master bedroom on the complete opposite side of the children's bedrooms. No stairs with annoying pitter-patter of feet!
This is just one way to look at living my best life. Are there any other ways that could be added to this list?

I'm most creative when...
I make what turns out to be a great meal from practically nothingness.
If I were a color, I'd be...
Sapphire blue. It's a bit of royalty mixed with passion and looks good on jewelry.
I often imagine myself...
Taking a different road in life. What if I had decided to move elsewhere, on my own after college, instead of moving back to my hometown?
I really wish I knew how to...
Sew! Mine and my family's wardrobe would be insane!
I'd love to spend a lazy Sunday...
Inside a bookstore with unlimited access to freshly brewed tea, warm croissants, my iPad, a writing notebook and shelves of books. I'd sit on a huge cushion pillow near a window with a view of a heavily populated park with shady trees. In between reading or jotting notes I'd get lost in a gaze of people watching.
My secret talent is...
Reading people and guessing their zodiac sign.

Record Scratch
Picture it. You're in a crowded room of full of people thoughts about past, present, failures, triumphs, goals, plans, dreams, visions, longstanding desires, etc. and they are making a sweet melody that puts you in a melancholy, yet hopeful mood. Then all of a sudden, the music doesn't transition into another melody, the needle scratches and your once fluid mind freezes in a musical chairs pause.
This is what's happening to me, my thoughts, my plans, my world of late.
[Repeat mantra] I will not murmur. I will not complain... As did the Israelites began murmuring and complaining when they saw giants in the land God had promised them (Num. 14:1-3).
If you need me, I'll be on the other side of this screenfighting praying away the mental demons (Translation: see above mantra). At the same time, I'll be knocking patiently so as to not be tempted to kick in doors God doesn't want me to walk through--prematurely or otherwise not.at.all.

Think redirection. I also promise to finish the madness that is March because that story is a huge part of this new found redirection. [Queue B-side music]

Dream the Impossible
Because the possibilities are endless! My vision may be putting the cart before the proverbial horse (loosely translated I don't have my license--yet, and I'm already dreaming of owning my own nail salon). However, my Bible states differently in Habakkuk 2, "And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it."
This exactly what I did while perusing the following website while on vacation before my upcoming first day of nail school. Going back over to the link to wallow in more dreaming and envisioning: http://www.happyfeetboutique.com/about-us/ ...
